In my solo show at the Artists’ House in Tel Aviv I presented a video of my ‘Wounded Jerusalem Closure Maps’ together with a map. During the opening, dressed in white, I performed. I was sewing the green letter X, now a decorative stitch along the borders of this new map, deconstructing thereby the sign signifying ‘Barrier Gates’ on the original maps.
The whole performance, absurd and Sisyphean, reenacts through the basic feminine act of sewing a utopist healing process while deconstructing cartographic power.
