Pro Vision 5

Pro Vision #5, 1999

This work created in 1999 at the same period of Café Bots (Black Coffee) a work directly related to Jerusalem relates to the ‘Holy’ Land and to the ‘Mother’ Land using symbols of both. Here the word ‘Holy Land’ is written with sugar, which is replaced in the work ‘Café Bots’ by salt, a symbol of bitterness. In this work I use a fragment the hands from the puzzle ‘Mother & Daughter’ (1994) which suggests the close embrace of a mother and a child. The plate with olive pits echoes my work ‘Correspondences’ (1998) and relates more directly to seeds, the beginning and the end of the circle of life.
